During the sweaty high season, from June to August, the coastal towns are at their liveliest. During this time, the Tunisian tourist authorities kick into action with a number of superb festivals in old Roman sites.
One of the best times to visit Tunisia is between mid-March and mid-May when the spring days are pleasantly warm and the countryside is at its prettiest after the winter rains.
November is the best time for visiting the Saharan south - longer expeditions deep into the desert are possible, prices are generally cheaper and Douz and Tozeur host back-to-back desert festivals.

The climate in Tunisia is generally quite warm all year round, with cooler winters (the coolest months are January and February when temperatures can drop to around 10 degrees celsius or less in the Atlas Mountains and most rain falls) and hot, dry summers.
The hottest months are July and August, when the mercury often hits over 30 degrees and hence these months are the busiest as far as tourism is concerned. However you are generally assured of warm, dry weather at any time from April to September.
Required Clothing for Tunisia: Lightweights in summer, mediumweights and rainwear in winter. Sunglasses are advised.
